Welcome to the first 2005 edition of Care and Feeding of Empaths and HSPs!
This month we look at Honoring Your Rhythm, whether it matches those around you or not. If you've been reading our newsletter for awhile, you know that as Empaths and HSPs ourselves, we model the processes we share with you - both as an organization and as individuals. Recognizing and honoring our own rhythm meant that our first issue for 2005 is a February issue. :)
We hope you enjoy this month's newsletter and that you take advantage of the new resources available on the website to support you
- Dealing With the World" - how national and global events are affecting us (like the tsunami) and what on-line resources we're using to help us deal with these events;
- Members Only area - where you can discuss this month's topic in the Sensitives Forum, listen to the audio library, access Sensitives Resources and more.
Embrace and Honor Your Rhythm!
In Spirit, In Joy,

Loving Reminder! If you are experiencing overwhelm when this issue arrives, STOP!
Take as much time as you need right now -- a few minutes, or even a few hours -- to take very good care of yourself. Extreme Self-Care is the best way to deal with overwhelm.
Don't know how to start? Try this link to give yourself a few moments of breathing space. Breathe into your body while viewing the scene, and when you begin to feel more relaxed, ask your body, "What do I need right now?"
And then act upon the Guidance your body sends you. We'll be here when you're ready.
Finding Your Rhythm
by Lauren Lee, Master Spirit Coach, Empath and HSP
While much of the world hits the ground running in the new year - creating resolutions, setting goals, starting new projects - as an Empath or Highly Sensitive Person, you might find your Self wanting to rest instead. Does this resonate with you?
What do you do when you find your Self in this place? Do you judge your Self with thoughts like "I'm so behind", "I should do...", What is wrong with me?"? If so, you're not alone!
First, let me say that your desire to rest, your lack of motivation is PERFECTLY NORMAL! So cut your Self some slack. Your sensitive system needs some down time after all the hub-bub of the holidays. It is a time to regroup, a gathering of your energy, a recharging of your Soul.
The biggest challenge you have as an Empath or Highly Sensitive Person is honoring this need to rest.
-
What would it be like if you embraced this experience?
-
Gave your Self total permission to slow down?
-
Let go of all the shoulds and did nothing?
You might just find that you reconnect with your Self and your own rhythm. You might find that illness can be a form of rest and self-care. Or that your priorities have shifted.
In case you're inclined to push your Self through this desire to rest and override the request to slow down, let me remind you that if you don't listen to your body, it will eventually take you down. When it has had enough, you're done. We think we're the ones in charge; but our bodies can kick our butts when they want to get our attention. I've seen a 6'4" 280 lb. man knocked flat on his back for days because he didn't listen to his body. So why not listen to your body before it starts screaming? :D
This is an opportunity for you to release the judgment and embrace your own rhythm.
And know that while a lot of the world is running at high speed, there are a whole lot of Empaths and HSPs like you, talking it slow.
In Spirit,
Lauren
By the way, a slower rhythm does not mean less productive - and that's another topic for discussion :D

Here's a simple process to decipher the message in your resistance and rekindle your motivation |
